Ships can be bought at the shipyard located on planets. New players are able to own 2 ships.

Mouse

mouse_x256.png
"The mouse? A good tool for ramming at high speeds into the vessels of wealthy politicians." - Yugo Pinbridge, Chief of the Sideways Fish Clan.
The term 'mouse' was actually a mispelling of its close cousin the mousse, not (as wealthy politicians would have you believe) the horned elk-resembling creature that used to dwell on earth (come on... moose doesn't even have a plural... meese?). It came to be after a particularly unsatisfying meal eaten by the 2nd emporer of Pork. He decreed that all pilots be subject to his dissatisfaction - what better way than forced imprisonment in one of these? Not generally a lot of use, although they do come in very handy for paid accounts when juggling their 3 ships in where they want them docked.

"An even better tool for ramming into politicians." - Polly Shimmerduck, Friend of Yugo's Dog.
Suicial Joe's comments give a good idea of what you should do with it ASAP. Selling it for another ship is probably better for you on the long term though :D

CTX404

ctx404_x256.png
"We're currently searching for something good which CTX404 stands for. Until then... Yes." - Phillip Mou'TANG, CEO of FAIL inc.
The unabreviated title of this ship is still to be unveiled (it's been worked on for 4'991'864' years as of now), but boy, when it comes out... Well... Yes. This is a mighty fine craft which is good at killing things. It's just a crying shame that you can't wow the Centaurian laserchicks with your in-depth knowledge of the CTX404's title.

Atlas

atlas_x256.png
'"The Atlas will be able to carry the sky and more! Just pay me lots of money."' - Roger McBEARD, Chief engineer of the Atlas.
The designer of the atlas certainly succeeded in mega cargo. Named after a titan from Greek mythology, the Atlas is more than capable of making its owner rich (probably the best freighter in the game). The one inconvenience of this ship is the satellite dish, which tends to snap off a little too easily (a passing gust of wind... or a passing flying 'nana). After losing the first, pilots are recommended to leave it - the dish is refutedly just for decoration.

Centaur

centaur_x256.png
"We at FAIL inc enjoy making ships based on mythical creatures. It has come to our attention that many consumers are dissatisfied with the lack of resemblance to these creatures in the vessels. My solution? Well...
I can only suggest squinting." - Piggle Whighume-Glyme'pTANG, Board member of FAIL inc.
The centaur looks amazing. It's gifted on the gun and missile department. It's good value for money. Most of all it's classed as 'special.'
Why wouldn't you want it?

"So our briefing went a bit like this: There exists not a ship of beauty which reminds me of ponies. Make one.
Yeah... I think we've nailed it." - Whollop Fwah-TANG, Chief engineer of FAIL inc.
FAIL inc certainly did. The Valkyrie is a very nice ship... Just not as good as some of the other ones.

Decimator

decimator_x256.png
"A Decimator used for good is like... a pigeon on speed." - 'Bill,' Guy found on street
Inspired by a family lost to freakish 'accidents,' the Decimator was the brainchild of Nigel Buff. With so many missile slots, the decimator lives up to its name. Unfortunately, with such an angry title, there have been many cases of pilots degrading into destructive fits of anger while chanting long synonyms of 'annhilation.' Fortunately, this is just the minority. On the whole, the current trend is to line the seats with pink fluff and a heart-shaped windscreen to make it known that these guys are blowing stuff up in love... Not in anger. Aww.
On the whole, probably the best ship for PvP.

Raptor

raptor_x256.png
'"And if one green raptor, should accidentally melt... They'll be 9 green raptors heading for a collision course to the sun' - Guillyam Waggledagger'
That's one of the greatest works of Guilliam Waggledagger. Aaaah nostalgia...
I think there's been far too much nostalgia on this wiki, so I'll stop here.
The raptor is probably the best skilling ship in the game due to the proposterously large number of turrets and guns.

Deliverance

deliverance_x256.png
"I like to see the whites of their eyes before I blow them down. Thus this tainted glass is really annoying. - Porkian pilot motto.
Based upon the design of Elk McGuire's favourite utensil, as with many IOBISVs (Interesting-Object-Based Inter-Stellar Vessels) such as the 'Bulldog Clip', 'Digital Alarm Clock' and the elegant 'Champagne Bottle,' the 'Deliverance' is yet another surprisingly aerodynamic space-craft based on an everyday item (well... the radioactive noodle hook was pretty everyday for Elk). The only difference was that this one managed to fly. So called the 'Deliverance' because it was first adopted on a large scale by working-class postmen, this ship is an able multi-purpose vessel which is quite hard to put a dent in (studies suggest it takes at least 5 elephants dropped from 100 metres to make a dent - rigorous, relevant safety testing now has to be applied to all new vessels as standard).
