Building
INTRO GOES HERE
When you self-destruct via the Remove Building interface element, the contents of the building will likewise be lost.
However, if you were to blow up someone else's building, the contents of the building will be deployed to a container.
In either case, the building itself will leave no debris.
Buildings will trade more goods than they have free space, but they will store all produce. (Produce ignores free space limits.) Do not be surprised to find some buildings with -734 space available.
Consumption and production for all buildings listed are the base levels. For quick reference, use Buildings Reference Table.

Special Buildings
Special buildings can not be built by players. They are by and large found throughout the universe and have a wide range of functions.
Jump Gate
Jump Gates are the connection points between various sectors. Gates pictured like the one above have a single possible destination.
Gates pictured like the one above have a multiple possible destinations. By clicking on the gate, or it's name in the object list, you can view the destinations and jump to a destination of your choosing.
Some gates have no destinations and are inactive. These gates may still be a destination for a different gate however.
Gates pictured like the one above are special. They may have passage restrictions or a time-lock which otherwise makes them different from other gates.
The base AP Cost to jump though a gate is 500 AP. This cost is lowered by 1 AP for each 0.5 Agility score you earn until you reach the minimum jump AP cost of 50 AP.
Do not shoot or attempt to shoot gates, do not loiter within 5 AUs of closest edge of the Gate, do not collect $200, do not pass GO.
Faction Administration Building (FAB)
Unique building.
Faction Administration Buildings are built on planets to claim the planet for a faction.
See Faction Administration Buildings.
Oracle
And there shall be a man named Billy and he'll sell you double glazing. And you will acquire much merriness, for no longer will your humble abode vent energy. - The great prophecy of inaccuracy
In a sentence, the Oracle is a special, stationary building that allows players to trade in 1000 influence for information on how they rank in the universe on a particular skill or stat (e.g. Tactics, Engineering, APs used, etc) - the skill in question changes every day. It is cloaked in the same way that player cloaking works - it can only be seen once you're on top of it... Quite how it does this has been a subject for debate for many decades. Pilots who know its location have distractedly mentioned large orange footwear and a hooded figure wearing a sombrero before hurriedly changing the subject (usually to their favourite soup... We're not sure why this is). It would be a kind, loving gesture to let you know where such a pleasant, mysterious building lies - a building which conjures thoughts of croutons floating in flavoured water... But we're not going to. It's much more exciting to find it yourself. :D
Spoiler: |
---|
The oracle is located at Aldebaran [-10,1]. It is cloaked. |
Author's Hideout
Found only on the fabled 'map editting universe,' the author's hideout acts as a gate to sectors uncharted as of yet... We consulted the Porkian scriptures for the only written account of what is seen as one passes through the fire:
"Thou shalt find no tongue where thou tongue should layeth. Instead, a fish - layeth ugishly like a mollusc on one plate. Then thou shalt spy yonder a sign. The sign will be known thus: There shall be a Lord of stature. He shalt tryeth to sell thou cleaning products. "BANG. BANG." He shalt say. Thou wilt know him by his name; for be he shalt:
BARRY SCOTT.
Beneath one peach-blue hue, thou shalt seek vengeance lushly on the Bohemian sun-rise of the half-dead-lizard. For it shan't relent. Ever. Until tea-time. Then it shalt.*"
(* I think this bit's lost a bit in translation)
Scorpion Nest
The news will report when one of these is found, and until destroyed it will spawn (up to 3?)Scorpion Fighters.

Building Messages
A good building message can increase the immersion element of Fleet. It can also provide traders with useful information about your prices and upkeep needs.
Possible Elements
These are the most commonly used BBcode tags to bring a little personality to building messages. There are others, but these will get any message off to a good start.
